Former NFL quarterback and analyst Phil Simms joined Atlanta sports radio to discuss the Atlanta Falcons’ outlook, Michael Penix Jr.’s development, NFL coaching philosophies, and the challenges young quarterbacks face transitioning to the professional level.
Michael Penix… every game that he stays in there and gets a little healthier and a little more used to playing NFL football, it’s going to get better and better. And not only that, it’s up to the coaches to design plays and give him opportunities become better. So that’s the big part. We don’t talk about much. There’s a lot of quarterbacks a lot who have the talent to be big time starters, but they can’t be if the offensive line stinks and they can’t be if the game plan or the drawing up of plays is nothing special. – Phil Simms
