Daily 10: The Braves Punt, the Bullgogs on Top, and is it Penix or Tua’s Time?

The Braves punted on their opener against the Mets which isn’t popular but understandable.

Plus: This feels like as close to a lock as you will find to start the college football season…and you can thank Kirby Smart for it, and is it Michael Penix-eve or will it be Tua-Time tomorrow?

We’ve talked about how many times Walt Weiss has gone to his high-leverage guys, and that’s going to come at a price. And sometimes, there are going to be games you just have to punt. It’s the old thought of losing the battle, sometimes winning the war.

And it sucks for Connor Thomas that he had to go through it and had to wear that one, but again, that’s just part of the deal. You had to know going in, even if the Braves didn’t tell you, they were going to stay away from Dylan Lee, Dylan Dodd, probably your Didier Fuentes, I would guess Tyler Kinley, and Iggy. Five of your high-leverage guys, which means you’re left with Connor Thomas and maybe Victor Medeiros, and Medeiros has thrown a bunch lately too.

Again, this comes at the price of not having your starting pitching be able to go deep in the game
