Jeremy Schaap is embedded with Team USA in Santa Clara for tonight’s knockout game against Bosnia, and on Saturday he’ll be in NY hosting Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest. THAT is one heck of a July 4th holiday weekend!
Germany went out in the round of 32, right? The Netherlands went out in the round of 32, two of the great soccer nations, right? It’s embarrassing to them. It’s a massive, immense disappointment to them, but it doesn’t mean that, you know, nobody takes them seriously as soccer nations. It’s different for us because we don’t have that history, of course. It would be a massive disappointment. That’s the way that I would characterize it because there’s so many things here that line up for, something that could be historic for the USMNT.
