Atlanta deals INF Nacho Alvarez Jr. to Los Angeles Angels

ATLANTA – The Atlanta Braves today acquired LHP Brent Suter from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for INF Nacho Alvarez Jr.
Suter, 36, has pitched to a 1-2 record and a 4.12 ERA (29 ER/63.1 IP) across 41 games for the Angels this season. The 6-foot-4, 213-pound left-hander has appeared in 389 career games across 11 major-league seasons, going 43-26 with a 3.62 ERA (266 ER/660.2 IP). Since 2019, only three MLB pitchers have covered more relief innings than Suter (421.2): Tyler Rogers, Scott Barlow and Raisel Iglesias. An alumnus of Harvard University, the Chicago, Ill., native was originally selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 31st round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft.
Alvarez Jr., 23, appeared in 66 major-league games for Atlanta from 2024-25, slashing .216/.277/.298 (47-for-218) with two home runs, 15 RBI, and 19 runs scored.
