Mark Schlabach drops in on Cellini & Dimino for a PGA Championshiup Recap for a tournament featuring insanely difficult pin placements, challenging winds, and a winner that NOBODY saw coming!
Talking to guys on Monday and Tuesday, they thought it was going to be “grip it and rip it”, hit it wherever you want, knock it on the green, two putt and get out of there. And the pin placements on Thursday and Friday were absolutely diabolical. The wind made it a heck of a lot worse, but it had been a while since anybody played there. Rory said he played there a practice round a couple of weeks ago, and He didn’t think he was going to be anywhere near that difficult. So Kerry Hague, their competition guy, and the grounds crew there, deserve a lot of credit because itended up being one hell of a test.
