If you’re Walt Weiss, the Braves’ new skipper, and you don’t want to overexert your starter in the first couple of turns in the rotation, well, you can use Didier Fuentes a couple of times a week to get 6 outs or 8 outs, and that’s kind of what he was doing in spring training. He pitched a total of 9 innings, but in those 9 innings, he struck 17 batters out, and he only Blemish on his record was a hit batsman on the first batter he faced in spring. Everything else, he was just dominant.
