He has appeared in 12 career postseason games, all with San Diego, including a trip to the National League Championship Series in 2022.
A native of Bucheon, South Korea, Kim was originally signed by the Padres to a major league contract in December of 2020 following seven seasons playing professionally in Korea. He made his major league debut the following season. Kim has appeared defensively at shortstop (350 games), second base (132) and third base (79), and has made a single appearance as designated hitter in his career.
