Today, Buck and Kelly begin a series of Georgia Bulldogs player profiles with the members of the “Original 5,” the first African-Americans to receive full football scholarships tothe University of Georgia. Former Georgia LB Clarence Pope joins “The Buck Belue Show” to take us back to 1971 when he and 4 others changed history at UGA.
The pioneer actually goes before, he cuts the trail to make sure that others are able to follow. And so that’s basically what we did. I mean, we didn’t have the idea per se that we are actually cutting a trail. I mean, that wasn’t constantly on our mind at all. But as we look back over the years, that’s exactly what we’ve done.
