ATLANTA — It was a split weekend for Atlanta football fans — the Falcons stumbled overseas, Georgia dominated on the road, and Georgia Tech rested up for the stretch run.

The Falcons (3-6) dropped a 28-25 overtime heartbreaker to the Indianapolis Colts in Berlin. Rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. threw for 177 yards and a touchdown, but Atlanta couldn’t slow down Jonathan Taylor, who ran for 244 yards and three scores. The Falcons were outgained 519-290 and went 0-for-8 on third downs. Drake London had six catches for 104 yards and a touchdown, while Bijan Robinson rushed for 84 yards. Atlanta will look to regroup Sunday at home against the 5-5 Carolina Panthers.
On Saturday, No. 5 Georgia (8-1) steamrolled Mississippi State 41-21 in Starkville behind Gunner Stockton’s 264 yards and three touchdowns through the air. Nate Frazier added 181 rushing yards, including a 63-yard score, as the Bulldogs rolled up 567 total yards. Georgia now turns its attention to a massive matchup with Texas in Athens.
Georgia Tech was idle this week but returns to action Saturday at Boston College.
