From a football perspective, I do think that a lot of the reasons that used to seemingly really matter, proximity to fertile recruiting grounds and all that stuff, I don’t know that that matters nearly as much as it used to. Let somebody else recruit them. Even if I don’t get you your first year, even your second year, maybe I come get you your third year, your fourth. And so because of that, because of the portal, I think the big thing for a lot of these programs is, “How much financial resources do I really have?” The weight room is great. Oh, the team meeting room is huge and we have flat screens on every surface in the locker room. The floor is made out of flat screen televisions, but who cares?”
I got to know what kind of bag can I throw at some of these guys and to hang on to the guys I want to keep. And maybe Florida has that.
