I used to say for every song you heard from me, I would write 10 and throw them away, and that’s basically what I did, and what that really means is you start down a path, you’re excited on a song, you get into a verse or so maybe you start into the next verse and you’re already kind of hitting the wall, some kind of dead end . Well, this isn’t going anywhere, I don’t know what to do with this, I would literally crumple up the paper.
– JOHN FOGERTY on his musical creative process.
As the driving force behind Creedence Clearwater Revival, he wrote some of the 60s’ most enduring songs. Legendary musician and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer John Fogerty announced the release of a powerful new album, Legacy: The Creedence Clearwater Revival years, arriving August 22nd via Concord. The 20-track collection features newly recorded versions of Fogerty’s most beloved songs—from “Proud Mary” and “Bad Moon Rising” to “Fortunate Son” and “Have You Ever Seen the Rain”—marking both a celebration of an iconic catalog and a personal reclamation of artistic ownership.
