I was in radio for 30 years and kind of halfway through that I just basically stumbled, tripped, and fell into PA announcing and was like, “Wow, this is an actual job? They pay you to do this?”
And as PA announcers around the country will tell you, you don’t get paid a lot. The PA announcer, the typical going rate for a PA announcer, even at, you know, Major League professional sports can be, “Yeah, we’re going to give you a parking pass, we’ll give you a meal ticket, and we’ll give you 100 bucks.”
But who would say no to being a PA announcer for an NFL team or a or a Major League Baseball team?
