It’s a perfect storm. I mean, they had a really tough out-of-the-gate road trip and when you come out of spring training, you have pitchers that aren’t ready to throw 100 pitches. And if you do, they’re probably going to fall apart in September. So there’s a method to “I want to be ready,” but we don’t want to have trained for three months so that I burn out at the end of the year. So your pictures are just slowly, almost there.
And then hitters will tell you they need a couple months to see good sliders so you know your hitters sometimes will be late to the dance and you know, it’s hard to hit for a Major League season.
