I believe this: “Recruiting is Relationships,” right? And as soon as you get players on campus, if you stop building relationships with them, you might as well, you know, count them out. You have to have…you have to have relationships with players to coach them hard, to coach them the right way. You have to have relationships if you want, you know, guys to have… if you expect retention, And look, there’s guys going to leave, you can’t control their thoughts. You can’t control their mind. I learn that over the last 2 years, right? We got to do our best and put everything we have into these kids the way we know is right in order to build a championship football team.
