Most of these deals are two and three-year deals. It depends on the guarantees which will make it a true three-year deal. What ends up happening is teams will do a four and five and even a six-year deal that we don’t know about because there’s voided language in there already and the purpose of it is twofold: One, to spread out the proration of signing bonus to lower the cap number, and 2, The commitment is only short term by the team. And so it works both ways because it gives the player stability for the next couple of years, and it gives the team the option of saying hey this is great, we move on after two or three years or there’s a balloon in year 4 or year five if it is a four or five year deal. It gives the player leverage to renegotiate.
