So they sign Shohei, they sign Yamamoto, they trade for Glasnow and extend him, and it was like, oh, the Dodgers spent a billion dollars this offseason, and everyone, everywhere was making a similar joke: A billion dollars all to get knocked out in the division series by the Diamondbacks. Or they’re all to get knocked out the division series by the Giants or the Padres. Whatever. And they were one game away from doing that and they it was a bullpen game on the road in San Diego, the team that everybody across the league was saying, they were the best team in baseball at that time. And on paper, you’d have to agree with them and the Padres got shut out two games in a row and lost the division series. But the Dodgers were that close, a bullpen game away from those jokes from last year being validated!
