Payton is looking at a great future on the softball diamond and plans on studying physical therapy as a result of the treatment she received at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Payton Gonet
Age: 16
Children’s Care Team: Anna Nowlan (Sports Physical Therapist)
Sport: Softball
Story: After running into a first baseman and landing on her hip during a softball game, Payton was in a lot of pain. Her family saw a sports medicine doctor that told Payton she had a right hip anterior labral tear and that she’d never play softball again – that’s when her family turned to Children’s. After working with her physical therapist, Anna, for several weeks, Payton realized her pain was completely gone. Not only has Payton made a full recovery, she also is thinking of becoming a physical therapist herself!
Payton made her school’s varsity softball team as a freshman and now plays for Team Netherlands.
