WHAT: The Atlanta Braves, together with Truist, will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the newly refurbished baseball and softball fields at Frederick Douglass High School. Upgrades to the facility include a state-of-the art covered batting cage, new baseball and softball equipment, rebuilt home and away bullpens, relocated home dugout, a new topper guard along the outfield fence, windscreens, and a backstop pad.
Frederick Douglass High School is the first of many Atlanta Public high schools to benefit from the baseball and softball improvements made possible by the Braves Park Projects initiative. This program works to enrich communities and increase access to youth baseball and softball programs with a focus on improving local parks and fields throughout Metro Atlanta and Braves Country.
