Money raised will go towards Team Rubicon’s relief efforts
ATLANTA – September 30, 2022 – As the Atlanta Braves begin their sold-out series with the New York Mets, they have mobilized to begin fundraising during those games and online, for fans to donate for hurricane relief. Money raised will go towards Team Rubicon’s relief efforts for those affected by both Hurricane Fiona and Ian.
Hurricane Ian has impacted many of those in Braves Country – both near the Braves Spring Training facility in North Port, Florida and now those in South Carolina and North Carolina.
“The last two hurricanes have affected us personally with player and staff families in Puerto Rico and Florida,” said Derek Schiller, Atlanta Braves President and CEO. “We are assisting our staff in Florida and thankful they are all safe, but we know there are many others who need help. Our fans have seen the devastation and want to help as well, so we are hoping to raise a significant amount of money. We continue to pray for those affected and we are ready to assist however we can.”
Tonight, through Sunday, the Atlanta Braves Foundation’s 50/50 raffle proceeds will go towards Team Rubicon’s hurricane relief efforts.
Two additional ways the Braves are raising money for Team Rubicon’s efforts include:
- Beginning today through Wednesday, October 5 fans can donate by going to www.braves.com/give
- Autographed items will be available for a silent auction through MLB’s Ballpark app – details on items will be available in the next few days
