Even though I spent the formative Wonderbread Years in Southern California (Hollywood, San Fernando, Claremont) I've spent the majority of my life right here in the South. My radio career started in Charlotte, North Carolina on a Beautiful Music station WEZC. That's right, elevator music. While I was working 7pm to midnight, I also worked as a janitor during the day! Radio didn't pay very well back then and $125.00 per week didn't buy very much! So, one of my many janitorial jobs involved cleaning the Charlotte Coliseum, home of the Charlotte Checkers hockey team. When I left WEZC it was on to a Progressive Rock Station WRPL. Those were the days when you played all your own records! After Charlotte, Rock 105 in Jacksonville, Florida. The "Chris & J.D." Show had a very successful 7 year run in Jacksonville. During that time, we enjoyed a close association with the USFL Jacksonville Bulls. You may remember one of their QB's? A handsome, young former Bulldog named Buck Belew. Little did I know back then that one day I would be working with Buck at 680 The Fan. After Jacksonville, KKDJ in Fresno, California and more Bulldogs! Coach Jim Sweeney and the Fresno State Bulldogs! In December of 1989, Atlanta called. Mornings on 96 Rock with Dan Patrick and Lorna Love...and I've been here ever since.
I am divorced with custody of 3 wonderful kids Lennon, Max & Zoe. My oldest son, Austin, is in the Navy and just recently proposed! Yes, Austin is the same kid that you may remember from "The Wonderbread Years" on 96 Rock! Well he's all grow'd up now :)
In addition to sports, I live and breathe my kids, music, pop culture, movies, some TV, I play guitar, I like to draw, paint, build model cars and I'm in the process of recording a CD with my band Pale White Sausage!
It's funny how tastes change, when I wrote this bio 10 years ago, my favorite TV shows were C.S.I. Miami, Desperate Housewives, Nighty Night, SNL and Curb your enthusiasm. Old favorites wre Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, Seinfeld, Mary Tyler Moore, The Bob Newhart show, Andy Griffith, All in the Family and The Jeffersons. Now, I watch stuff like Kitchen Crashers with Alison Victoria, Yardcore, or American Horror Story!
I still love Nine Inch Nails, Frank Zappa, The Beatles, and Korn.
...and when it comes to sports teams...I grew up a Los Angeles Rams fan, but when they moved to St. Louis...C'ya! Now, I like all the local teams! Even though we have to get on their case sometimes.
