Rude E Mail for the week

Gang,

I'm pissed cause I took the over on thse number of times CBS would show the parents of the Harbaugh brothers............They should have matched up the Alabama Crimson Tide with the Ravens and called it the "Deer Antler Spray Bowl"..........and I blame the power outage on George Bush.

With Luck the Colts improve by 9 wins (2 in 2011, 11 in 2012). The Redskins improve by 5 wins with RG3 (5 in 2011, 10 in 2012)

Luck throws for 4,400 yds (a record for rookies), and 23 TDs. Griffin throws for 3,200 yds and 20 TDs

Luck has 4,650 total yards, RG3 has 4,000 total yards.

RG3 was much better with only 5 INTs to Luck's 18.

Based on these stats, could you guys please explain to me how RG3 garners 29 votes to Luck's 11. If it was maybe 21 to 19 it would be somewhat palatable, but I cannot fathom the runaway result.

HEY RUDE,

LOST IN THE SHUFFLE OF OTHER NEWSWORTHY ITEMS LIKE THE SUPER BOWL AND WHAT ABBREVIATION HOLLYWOOD CAME UP WITH FOR THE LATEST CELEBRITY COUPLE, IS THE ANNUAL EVENT OF GROUNDHOG’S DAY.

WELL, THIS YEAR, IT SEEMS, THAT ON SATURDAY, ONE PERRY LAURENTINO SAW HIS SHADOW, AND SO, OF COURSE, WE ALL KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS.

SIX MORE WEEKS OF BACK HAIR.

Rude,

> I am a big sport fanatic and I watch all major sports Football, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer and many more. In all major sports there is some type of penalty for Coaches ranting/dropping F BOMBs on the refs. In baseball you get tossed, in basketball you get technicals and then tossed, in soccer you get a yellow card then a red then get tossed out, why is it than in football the refs has to take it all and do nothing about, by the way Jim Harbaugh is a fucking idiot........... he should have been penalize multiple times for unsportsmanlike conduct.

> Great show keep it coming.

Hi Chris. Enjoy your show. I’m sorry if you guys have addressed this issue on the show already but I’m wondering if you thought the Falcons would of beaten the Ravens? Thanks. Dave

Perry is an idiot...of course you already know that. Joe did play a few greatest hits, but the whole show was to introduce his new album - Analog Man. Great new music. Talked about being sober for 8 years too. Looks like he's in a good place.

You should check out the show. Think it's called Guitar Center or something like it.

Love the show.

SEC Dominance. My name is Eric 42, live in Atlanta, but was raised in San Diego. The BCS altered the thinking/ ranking of the bowls, giving the south at first an artificial dominance. When I was a kid, the Rose Bowl & the Rose Bowl Parade was the climax of the college football season. The Sugar Bowl & orange Bowl was up there but second tier bowls. The BCS changed the order of importance. So now a 2nd place SEC team is still in a better position than 1st place teams other 5 top conferences. (Is that fair?) I do like the SEC though. I would like to see Alabama play the USC TROJANS, MICHIGAN, ORGAN, & TEXAS. Then! I would consider them #1. Let SEC play other conferences every other year instead playing themselves over & over.

Very interesting song. it was written by Chip Taylor who is actually John Voight's brother. Chip Taylor also wrote the megahit by Merrilee Rush Angel of the Morning. He got out of the music business and then became a professional gambler and made big money and has not ever gone back to writing music. Most of his music was very country oriented so wild thing was really out of character. Google him and read a pretty interesting story

Hello Ru Ru can you please tell me why Perry or John Kincade have not been going in on Dan Marino about his infidelities? They both killed Tiger woods about lying and cheating on his ex-wife. i just wondering why they are giving Dan Marino a passed for paying out millions of dollars to his baby mama and keeping his child from knowing her 6 brother and sisters. Thank you long time listener Jay from Duluth.

Rude and Perry -

You guys were discussing the south's love affair with college football and the SEC this morning and Perry made some comments about the rooting interests of people in the North/Northeast. The conversation reminded me of an article written in 2002 by Syracuse Post-Standard columnist Bud Poliquin after his visit to Auburn for the Auburn-Syracuse game. Per his article, what he witnessed at Auburn could apply to Gainesville, Tallahassee, Tuscaloosa, Austin, and a number of other great college towns in the south and the midwest.

It just about sums up what you were discusssing and draws some stark contrasts between football in the south and up north...the article is at the link but I also pasted it in below...enjoy!

Guys STOP talking about “Stars” not mattering; they do! See below! Perry, so if you were a head Coach of a D1 program you’d be more satisfied with 3 star guys then 5 star guys? Come on!

These Elite players do not go to UGA because it is not comfortable for them. I got into UGA coming out of high school via an educational scholarship and I just did not feel comfortable there. I fet much more comfortable at Valdosta State, Florida State, LSU and Mercer University.

One program’s greatest recruiting class ever is just another day at the office for just about everyone else in the SEC.

Here’s the problem. While the Rebels might have been the talk of Signing Day, Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, Florida and Georgia all had better classes according to the Scout.com rankings, and Auburn, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State and South Carolina weren’t far behind with all nine SEC programs finishing in the top 21.

Georgia, for example, had a rough afternoon losing out on some key in-state prospects, highlighted by running back Alvin Kamar’s decision to go to Alabama, and it still finished one spot ahead of Ole Miss.

I believe, however, that once recruits remember that ... "Oh yeah .... we have to get past Bama, Texas A&M, Arkansas, LSU, & Auburn just to make it to our Conference Championship!!" OUCH!

The reality of it all is that the next time this Ole Miss class will be talked about this much is in three years when Freeze has moved on to LSU and the NCAA has started an investigation at Ole Miss.
