Dogs Defense Dominates Gators!

Now that was impressive! Thought all along that the Gators Offense was the weakness, because they aren't built to throw it yet. But that was a total beatdown. Grantham's defense dominated.

Jarvis Jones delivered one of the great performances in Georgia football history. Seriously. Defensively, that performance has ranks up there with Bill Stanfill's against Spurrier the QB, in 1966. Jake Scott delivered a memorable performance against Kentucky in 1968. David Pollack's South Carolina performance saved the day, in 2002. Knox Culpepper had 26 tackles against Georgia Tech, in 1983. Freddie Gilbert had 5 sacks in that same game. Scott Woerner delivered that day against Clemson, in 1980.

But that performance by Jarvis might outrank all those.

The stat line, again: 13 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries. Amazing.

Jarvis also did it with such class and dignity. He's a pro. Totally mature. And ready for the NFL. He leads. He's humble. And he's a 3-down linebacker, who makes plays. Big plays.

Jones was the difference between winning and losing in Jacksonville. For the second year in a row. Total domination. Impact player. Future 1st round pick. Georgia's lucky to have him.
